Aurangabad, Jan 29:

For the past year, only announcements have been made to set up a food park at DMIC's Bidkin phase. A meeting of the board of directors of Aurangabad Industrial Township Limited (AITL) will be held in the third week of February to present the project report on the layout, designing, estimate and cost of the food park. Once approved, the work of the food park is expected to begin by the end of March.

Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on January 9, 2020 had announced to set up a food park on 500 acres in Bidkin phase of the DMIC. A proposal was then approved by the AITL in the first week of December. The work in the Bidkin phase is nearly complete. However, no anchor project has come up yet. The food park can attract some investment from national and international companies, say, industry experts. However, only announcements are being made for far.

Project report yet to be submitted

It was decided to submit the project report by the end of December, but it was delayed. Only after the project report is approved, the decision regarding the road, electricity, water and wastewater processing units will be taken into consideration

Work can begin in March

Joint managing director, Auric, Sanjay Katkar said the food park was approved at the AITL meeting in December. If the meeting had taken place in January, we would have presented the project report of the food park before that meeting. The meeting is expected to take place in the third week of February. Once the project report is approved, the next phase of work can begin before the end of March.
