The Environmental Research Foundation & Educational Academy (ERFEA), in collaboration with Wander & Pause, organised a ‘Bird BnB’ artificial bird nest-making workshop at Shastrinagar, drawing enthusiastic participation from children, youth and parents.

Addressing the gathering, noted ornithologist Dr Dilip Yardi stressed the urgent need to create artificial nesting spaces in urban areas, citing rapid urbanisation and shrinking tree cover as key challenges for birds during the breeding season. He said artificial nests, designed through years of observation, can provide safe alternatives while preventing entry of larger birds. During the hands-on session, 45 participants created 21 wooden and plywood nests, showcasing creativity through painting and decoration. Volunteers and organisers facilitated the activity, while attendees received bird-themed illustrations and informative booklets.
