The fines, electricity bills, school fees are being recovered rigorously. Hence, a delegation of BJP leaders met district collector and submitted a memorandum to the district collector Sunil Chavan demanded the removal of all the restrictions and stop the forced recovery from the residents. They also demanded that permission should be granted to celebrate Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14 by following social distancing norms.

The delegation led by city president Sanjay Kenekar, included former mayor Bapu Ghadamode, general secretary Raju Shinde, Rajesh Mehta, Sameer Rajurkar, Baban Narwade, Sunil Sonawane and others.

The memorandum stated that the birth and death anniversaries of the national leaders are not celebrated and observed for the past one year. Still, the residents are following the guidelines. The birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar is very important for people and hence the government should withdraw the restrictions for one day on April 14.

The residents are facing financial hardship due to the restrictions. If any untoward incidents occurs in such circumstances then the administration will be responsible for it, the leaders mentioned in the memorandum.
