Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The BJP and the Shinde-led Shiv Sena formed an alliance for the zilla parishad and panchayat samiti elections. On the last day for filing nomination papers, B-Forms were issued by both parties in some constituencies. This has now raised the question of how these B-Forms can be withdrawn. The BJP core committee deliberated on the issue throughout Friday. However, it appears that there is no option left other than contesting against each other in several places.

In Paithan, a decision will be taken in a meeting on Saturday on whether to support the candidates who have already filed nominations or ask them to withdraw their applications. In many Guts and Gans across the district, Mahayuti candidates have filed nominations along with B-Forms. As a result, despite meetings between leaders of both parties, cracks have appeared in the Mahayuti alliance.

The deadline for withdrawal of nominations is January 27. If no resolution is reached by then, it is certain that the BJP and the Shinde Sena will contest head-to-head in the zilla parishad and panchayat samiti elections.

B-Form has been issued…

MP Dr Bhagwat Karad said, “The BJP has issued B-Forms. The question is how they can now be withdrawn. The breaking of the Mahayuti began from the Shinde Sena’s side, and therefore we were also compelled to issue B-Forms. A decision regarding the situation in Paithan will be taken in a meeting on Saturday.”

Shinde Sena fields candidates in 11 seats

“The Shinde Sena has fielded candidates against the BJP in 11 places. As a result, we also had to issue B-Forms to our candidates. We will discuss what needs to be done over the next one or two days and take a decision. Whether to retain the B-Forms or not will be decided after consulting senior leaders,” said the OBC welfare minister Atul Save.
