Leaders and activists of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) burnt the copies of State Government’s stay orders on the farm bills, in front of district collector on Wednesday.

It may be noted that the Central Government passed three bills- The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill-2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill-2020 and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi issued stay orders on the bills'' implementation.

Raising slogans, the agitators demanded that the Government should implement the farm bills as they are in the interest of farmers.

MLA Haribhau Bagade said that the Modi Government at the Centre took many decisions during the last six years to double the income of farmers.

He said that the Government decided to give minimum support price of one and half times of the total farming expenses as per the recommendations of Dr Swaminathan Commission.

“The UPA Government never showed any willingness to implement the recommendations of the Commission. Prime Minister Narendra Mode has taken a decisive step in the form of farm bills. The lifestyle of farmers would improve with these bills. But, the State Government opposed the bill deliberately. The decision is anti-farmers,” he added.

BJP District president Vijay Autade, senior leader Laxman Aute, district vice president Ashok Pawar, District Yuva Morcha president Suraj Lolge, Kisan Morcha district president Kalyan Patil Gaikwad, Mahila Morcha District president Pushpa Kale, Radhakisan Pathade, Sanjay Khambayate, adv Badrinaryan Bhumre, Sanjay Gavhane, Dinesh Shelke, Venkatesh K, Anil Chordiya, Pradip Patil, Gajanan Nandurkar were present.
