Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A shocking incident occurred in the Bajajnagar area of Waluj MIDC late Monday night, where Krishna Rathod, the deputy tehsil chief of the Uddhav Sena, was victim of a life-threatening knife attack by unidentified assailants. The entire terrifying ordeal was captured on CCTV cameras, sparking significant unrest in the locality.

Rathod was heading home with his colleague, Mannu Rathod, after closing his restaurant. At approximately midnight, three attackers on a motorcycle intercepted their vehicle near Kamgar Chowk. Before they could react, the perpetrators drew knives and repeatedly stabbed Krishna. Mannu Rathod, who rushed to intervene and save Krishna, was also slashed by the attackers. The sudden violence created an atmosphere of fear throughout the area.

Treatment underway; motive remains unclear

Following the assault, the suspects fled the scene on their motorcycle. The injured victims, Krishna and Mannu Rathod, were rushed to the hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment. As of now, it remains unclear whether the attack was fuelled by political rivalry or personal enmity.

Upon receiving word of the incident, the police arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. They have seized CCTV footage from the vicinity and launched a manhunt for the attackers. Members of the Uddhav Sena have expressed outrage over the incident, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible.

Krishna Rathod in Critical Condition

Krishna Rathod, who sustained severe injuries in the assassination attempt, has been admitted to Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. His condition is reported to be critical, and he is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under close medical supervision.

According to Uddhav Sena tehsil chief Vishnu Jadhav, “ Crime is rising daily in the Waluj MIDC area, and even ordinary citizens are facing attacks. This raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the police. The authorities must arrest the culprits immediately and take strict action; otherwise, the Uddhav Sena party will not let this matter rest."

"Krishna Rathod is our office-bearer. An attack on our deputy tehsildar chief is a murder of democracy. We will not be intimidated by such cowardly acts. The police must apprehend the suspects within 24 hours, or there will be intense repercussions in Bajajnagar and the surrounding areas. These thugs have crossed the line, and now the Shiv Sainiks will show them their place!," said the city chief Vishal Khandagale.
