Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

In a daring midnight burglary, unidentified thieves broke into a locked house in the Millatnagar area of Vaijapur and decamped with gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 3.10 lakh. Notably, four suspects carrying weapons were captured on CCTV cameras, triggering panic among residents.

The house belongs to Mahemood Shaikh. While his family had gone to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for medical treatment, his wife had locked the house and stayed overnight at a relative’s place. Around 2.45 am, the accused allegedly conducted a recce before breaking the lock and stealing valuables from a cupboard. Police have launched a probe with the help of a dog squad. A case has been registered at the Vaijapur police station.
