A car caught fire near Waluj industrial toll plazaon Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar – Alhiyanagar highway around 11.30 am on Monday. No injuries were reported.
Govind Mait from Ambad (Jalna) was driving an Indica (MH-21-V-2878) towards Shrirampur when smoke began to rise from the bonnet. He immediately stopped the vehicle by the roadside, but the car was completely gutted. Eyewitness Sachin Wawale alerted the Waluj MIDC Fire Department. Firefighters Anil Deshmukh, S.G. Wasnik, Nitin Parkhe, Prathamesh Nagargoje, and Rajveer Jat brought the blaze under control. Officials suspect a short circuit due to rising temperatures. Police officer Jayesh Jadhav and Home Guard Shubham Gupta helped manage traffic.
