Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A unanimous resolution demanding the cancellation of the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) new 2026 regulations was passed on Sunday at a Brahmin convention, stating that the rules target specific sections and could increase discrimination, and calling for justice for the Brahmin community.

The state-level Brahmin convention, organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Peshwa Organisation, received an overwhelming response, with the Manthan Hall of MIT College filled to capacity. The convention was inaugurated after a flag worship ceremony by entrepreneur Vivek Deshpande, who urged youth to start businesses instead of chasing jobs and create employment for others. Organisation president Sachin Wade Patil explained the objectives of the convention.

Chairman of the Parshuram Economic Development Corporation capt. Ashish Damle guided participants on the corporation’s functioning and schemes. Ram Kulkarni spoke on opportunities in education and government sectors, singer Raju Kaje on music, and Shruti Kulkarni on new opportunities in the IT sector. Chairperson of the National Commission for Women Vijaya Rahatkar was felicitated by Supriya Wade Patil. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Sudhir Das Maharaj addressed the gathering on “Brahmins and values”, offering guidance to the younger generation. The event’s success was supported by Vijay Kaje, Dhananjay Narale, Moreshwar Mardikar, Santosh Joshi, Uday Khandekar, Yogesh Dharmadhikari, Ravindra Pandit, Kashinath Chandaskar, Arvind Telwadkar and others.
