Polling for 21-gram panchayats (GP) in Waluj was held on Friday. After the polls, all candidates are waiting for the election results. Many candidates have expressed the possibility of a surprising result in this election.

Polling at Jogeshwari, Waluj, Ranjangaon, Pandharpur, Ambelohal, Tisgaon, Narayanpur and Kasoda gram panchayats in the industrial area was held on Friday. BJP and other smaller party office bearers and Mahavikas Aghadi were going head to head to take over the rich GPs. In Waluj, Pandharpur, Ranjangaon and Jogeshwari GP, candidates contested their family members in the election arena. During the election campaign, candidates took advantage of the latest technology and carried out high-tech campaigns on social media. Many also focused on meeting the voters. On the eve of polling, wealthy candidates had to empty their pockets to woo voters. After the peaceful voting process ended, the candidates took the total voter statistics from the polling booths. By counting the votes cast by the voters till late at night, they estimated how many votes they would get through the supporters.

Possibility of a shocking outcome

This year's GP elections, as the youth took to the field against the incumbents, a close competition was witnessed in many places. As the turnout in this year's elections has also increased, the pressure on the established candidates has increased. The candidates said that there might be surprising outcome of the results.
