Aurangabad, Dec 29:

The driver of a car was killed on the spot after the car hit a container truck on the Aurangabad-Ahmednagar highway at Kaygaon on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Praneetsingh Karansingh Hooda (28, resident of New Town Badnera, Amravati).

According to police, Praneetsingh Hooda was travelling from Amravati to Pune on Tuesday in a car (MH-14 CK-7042). Hooda lost control of his vehicle and hit a container (MH-46-AF-8385) travelling from Pune to Aurangabad across the divider. The accident was so terrible that the car was crushed, leaving Hooda dead on the spot. Citizens rushed Hooda to Gangapur sub-district hospital after the accident, but the doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, the container driver Mahadev Shrimant Gaikwad has registered a case at the Gangapur police station for negligently driving and causing an accident. SI Ramhari Chate is further investigating the case.
