A case has been registered at City Chowk police station against AIMIM corporators, including Opposition Leader Abdul Sameer Sajid, for allegedly obstructing an anti-encroachment drive in Shahaganj. The complaint was filed by Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment) Savita Sonawane.

As per the complaint, after civic action on February 26, 15–20 corporators allegedly reached the spot on February 27 with supporters, shouted slogans, abused officials, obstructed government work and issued death threats. Sajid allegedly warned officials against “high-handedness” and threatened to prevent their entry into Shahaganj, while hawkers were allegedly instigated. Municipal officer Sanjay Suradkar was allegedly threatened, abused and forced to leave in a vehicle. Syed Usama Qadir is accused of pushing and misbehaving with Encroachment Inspector Ravindra Desai and staff.
