“Caste divisions initially emerged based on occupations and forms of work, but over time became rigid and deeply rooted in society, leading to discrimination. Today, caste discrimination is largely driven by ego. To eliminate it, people must consciously cultivate the habit of not viewing others through the lens of caste. If this effort is made honestly by everyone, caste discrimination can come to an end within the next ten to twelve years”, said RSS cheif Dr Mohan Bhagwat.
A major public interaction programme was organised on Saturday afternoon as part of the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, with the aim of engaging with thoughtful citizens from society. Participants submitted their questions in writing, and Dr Bhagwat addressed their queries and concerns in detail. The programme was held at the Sangh’s Samarpan office in Satara, and was attended by Prant sanghchalak Anil Bhalerao. Vijay Rathi presented the introductory remarks.
“Come to the Shakha to understand the Sangh”
While responding to questions, the RSS cheif said, “The Sangh was not formed as a reactionary organisation, nor does it compete with anyone. The Sangh seeks to work alongside all sections of society to make India prosperous. It does not aim to grow itself, but to strengthen society. The goal is not to create an organisation within society, but to organise society itself. A time should come when society works on the sangh’s values, at which point the sangh will no longer need a separate identity”.
“Use technology for social good, do not become its slaves”
Technology is an unavoidable necessity today. Adopting Swadeshi does not mean rejecting technology; however, people should not become slaves to it. Industries and businesses should operate not only for personal profit but for social welfare as well, Dr Bhagwat said while interacting with young entrepreneurs in the city earlier in the morning.
