Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

In accordance with orders from the Central and State Governments, preparations for the census have been underway by the administration over the past few days. The census work in urban areas will commence from May 1 through the municipal corporation, and approximately 3,800 employees will be appointed for this purpose. Municipal Corporation’s deputy commissioner Vikas Navale informed that this process will be completed shortly.

Work related to staff appointments and training is currently in progress. In the first phase, from May 1 to 15, citizens will be required to fill in their information themselves through an app. After that, employees appointed for the census will visit homes and assign numbers to each house. For this work, the city has been divided into 10 blocks. Each block prepared for registration will include around 120 to 140 houses, although in the first phase, some blocks may contain more houses than this.

Orders will soon be issued for the appointment of 3,700 to 3,800 employees. This will include teachers, as well as municipal and government staff, Navale said. This will be the first census conducted in the country since 2011. The census will be entirely digital, with no use of paper. An app will soon be provided by the Central Government, through which all records will be collected.

Answers to 33 questions will be important

The app designed for the census will include at least 33 questions. These will cover whether citizens have a gas connection, whether they own a two-wheeler, whether their house is temporary or permanent, along with several other questions that must be answered.
