Top performer in CM’s 100-day initiative

CM Fadnavis launched the initiative on December 9 to enhance public services in government departments. A review meeting at Mumbai’s Sahyadri Guest House, attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar along with Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, highlighted the best-performing departments. Among 6,854 officials who participated via video conferencing, outstanding departments were recognized, and top-performing officers received awards.

Selection process

The Home Department’s Principal Secretary shortlisted four out of 11 Police Commissioners, from which the Additional Chief Secretary selected one. Among six police ranges, the Director General of Police picked one Special IG. Out of 34 District Superintendents of Police, eight were shortlisted, and two were selected by the Home Department’s Principal Secretary.

Why it stood out

The police range’s website is available in Marathi and English, listing contact details and police services.

A booklet covering 17 key points of the Right to Information (RTI) Act is accessible in document form.

A dedicated mobile number (9607045353) allows complainants to track their case status.

A total of 3,334 complaints were investigated and resolved.

Tech-driven policing

Under IG Mishra’s leadership, 1,814 additional CCTV cameras were installed across police stations and key offices. The range has fully transitioned to a 100% e-office system. Additionally, 33 officers and 97 personnel have been trained in Artificial Intelligence (AI), strengthening the department’s technological capabilities.
