Children write letter to the PM, CM, initiative of Lions Club Gold on World Post Day

On the occasion of the World Post Day, a letter writing activity was organized by the Lions Club of Aurangabad, Gold for children. Twenty children of the Club members sent 200 letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, and Health Minister Rajesh Tope, administrative officials, relatives and friends. The goal is to write a thousand letters in the near future.

Project head Rachna Dashrathe gave an introduction. Vivek Abhyankar, the District Governor of the Lions Club, said, “About 40 years ago, telephone was not easily available. The speed at which communication now takes place is unimaginable. Letters were the only tool at that time. This commendable activity will encourage children to write.”

Children also wrote letters to Dr Vishnu Maharaj Parnerkar, District Collector Sunil Chavan, Municipal Administrator Astik Kumar Pandey and Superintendent of Police Mokshada Patil, Dean of Government Medical College and Hospital Dr Kanan Yelikar, relatives and friends urging them to take precautions for corona. The letters were dropped into the post box by students Abhisha Hirap, Pramada Dasharthe, Ojas Dasharthe, Aradhya Lalvani, Partha Lalwani, Gargi Ugle, and Sanika Valanikar.

Postmaster Shivnath Bujade and 30 postmen were honoured by Vivek Abhyankar. Lions Club of Aurangabad Gold President Abhijeet Hirap, treasurer Sudesh Chudiwal, Rahul Dashrathe and others were present.
