The alleged attempt to grab 54 acres 30 gunthas of government grazing land at Brijwadi, near Chikalthana industrial area, will be investigated by the Crime Investigation Department (CID), revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule informed the legislature on Monday. The CID has been directed to submit its report within three months.

The issue surfaced in November 2025 after allegations that fake signatures and seals of the divisional commissioner and district collector were used to claim the land. The matter was raised through a starred question by MLAs Satish Chavan and Vikram Kamble. The land, recorded as government grazing land since 1962, came under scrutiny after heirs of the original owner submitted an application in 2014 through a power of attorney. Meanwhile, the government has formed a special investigation team under the divisional commissioner to examine complaints related to land irregularities, including the 264-acre Abdimmundi land scam.
