Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A once-active police outpost in the LIG and MIG areas of Cidco Waluj industrial zone now stands abandoned, turning into a den for miscreants. Despite being a well-equipped facility built by Cidco, the structure has been deserted for over seven years, leaving residents vulnerable to crime.

The outpost, which initially saw regular police presence, was mysteriously shut down. Authorities never clarified why. Over time, the neglected building has become a breeding ground for suspicious activities, with locals fearing it now shelters thieves and criminals.

-------

A security threat instead of a safe haven

Instead of providing protection, the outpost now fuels fear among senior citizens, women, and schoolchildren. With no police intervention, anti-social elements roam freely, using the site for unknown purposes. Residents worry that unchecked activities could lead to serious incidents.

---------

Rising demand to reopen the outpost

With a growing population and an expanding workforce, locals have repeatedly demanded the revival of the outpost.UBT deputy city chief Dattatray Varpe has urged Cidco and the police commissioner to renovate the building and restore police operations.

For now, the abandoned structure remains a symbol of negligence, its silence echoing the concerns of a city in need of safety.
