Citizens rubbed shoulders with officers to rejuvenate and beautify Kham River

Aurangabad, March 6:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), through public participation, has claimed of lifting five tonnes of garbage from the Kham River today. A total of 200 bamboo saplings were also planted on the sides of the river.

The Kham river Rejuvenation and Riverfront beautification project had been undertaken by AMC in association with the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL), Aurangabad Cantonment Board (ACB), Varroc and Eco Sattva. The project aims to restore the ecology, structure, and beauty of the city's pride (Kham River). Through public participation, the river is cleaned up every Saturday.

The AMC administrator and the ASCDCL chief executive officer (CEO) A K Pandey initiated by painting and encouraged the citizens to take the brush and paint the wall (of defence property). He interacted with students and motivated them to come forward for the cause of the river.

AMC's head of solid waste management (SWM) Nandkishor Bhombe, district mining officer Atul Daud, ASCDCL's Siddharth Bansod, Aditya Tiwari, Sneha Bakshi, Arpita Sharad, Kiran Adhe, Pratik Manwatkar and Eco Sattva's Natasha Zarine, along with AMC's deputy engineer (mechanical) department D K Pandit, sanitation inspectors Asadullah Khan and Vishal Kharat were present on occasion. The station commander Upender Singh Anand was represented by his son Mansimran Singh at the drive. NGOs like Lifecare, Welcome Shaikshanik Samajik Va Sanskrutik Sanstha, Shramik Bahuddeshiya Vikas Sanstha and Wing Chun Association India, along with other citizens, also participated in the drive.
