Wife, daughter seriously injured

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A city-based architect was killed after his car collided with an unidentified vehicle and caught fire on the Samruddhi Expressway in Vaijapur tehsil at 7 pm on Monday. His wife and daughter were seriously injured.

The deceased, identified as Pawan Ajmera of Beed Bypass, was travelling from Mumbai with his wife Rina and daughter Isha in car (MH-20-FU-4527). While overtaking, the vehicle reportedly rammed into an unidentified vehicle and was flung aside before catching fire. Ajmera died on the spot due to severe injuries and burns. Local residents and Vaijapur corporator Prakash Chavan rushed to help. Police inspector Satyajit Taitwale shifted the victims to the Vaijapur sub-district hospital. The injured were later referred to a hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for further treatment.
