Begumpura police arrested Syed Sultan, a city-based bike thief, for stealing motorcycles using fake keys and selling them in Malegaon. The police recovered seven stolen bikes from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Syed Sultan (Asifia Colony). API Sanjay Gomte acted on a tip-off and caught Sultan in the Himayat Bagh area with a suspicious motorcycle. During questioning, he gave vague answers and later confessed to stealing the bike from Amkhas Maidan a month and a half ago. Further investigation revealed that he had stolen motorcycles from Cidco, Begumpura, Jinsi, Chandwad (Nashik), and Yeola. Sultan targeted bikes with faulty or old handle locks. He carried a set of fake keys, testing them on parked motorcycles until one worked. Once unlocked, he would swiftly ride away and sell the stolen vehicles in Malegaon. PI Mangesh Jagtap confirmed that the police are investigating further to track down other stolen bikes and potential buyers in Malegaon.
