Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Commercial LPG supply in the city will increase by 20 per cent from Monday, bringing the total allocation to 50 per cent.

Earlier, due to global disruptions linked to the US–Iran–Israel conflict, supplies were diverted towards domestic consumers, leading to a severe shortage for commercial users. The central government has approved the additional 20 per cent allocation as rising domestic production is helping restore normalcy. Cloud kitchens, hotels, and other commercial establishments are expected to get relief. At present, only limited LPG stock is available with these businesses. Due to the shortage, several hotels and restaurants in major cities such as Mumbai and Bengaluru have already been affected, with some reportedly shutting down. If supply is not stabilized, similar disruptions could impact businesses in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Hotels, industries facing limited LPG stock

Industry and hotel representatives stated that only limited LPG stock is currently available, allowing operations to continue for a short period. However, they expressed concern over future sustainability if the supply situation does not improve.

Relief expected from Monday

“A major relief for hotels and restaurants, as commercial gas supply is set to resume from Monday following the Centre’s decision. This will ease operational challenges faced by the hospitality sector, which has been struggling due to the prolonged disruption,”

- Pravin Phulari, District Supply Officer (DSO)

----

“Commercial gas supply is gradually improving, offering partial relief to the business community. However, traders and establishments are still dependent on existing stock. Complete normalcy will depend on consistent supply in the coming days,”

- Sanjay Kakariya, president, Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh
