City water supply disrupted for six hours

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A 1200 mm diameter water pipeline, which supplies water to the city, burst near Chitegaon at around 8 am on Saturday. As a result, the water supply to the city was stopped. Repair work was carried out on a war footing, and the pipeline was restored by 2 pm, after which water supply resumed. The disruption lasted for nearly six hours, and many areas in the city received water supply with delays.

Following the pipeline burst near Chitegaon, the water supply was immediately shut off. Deputy engineer M M Bawiskar, junior engineer Subhash Lohade, Ashish Wani, along with workers, rushed to the site and undertook repair work. Excavation was carried out using a JCB machine to fix the pipeline. After completing the repairs at around 2 pm, the water supply was restored.

Meanwhile, water supply continued through a 900 mm diameter pipeline during the repair period.
