Aurangabad, Dec 30:

The RTE Parents Association has submitted a memorandum to the chief minister urging him to probe against submission of 30 bogus rent agreements prepared to seek admissions in reputed schools under RTE Act, in the district.

Under Right to Education, the admission under RTE is given to the wards staying in the vicinity of one kilometre from school. To avail benefit, many parents mentioned staying in rented houses, situated within one kilometre to take admission in ICSE and CBSE schools. In one of the reputed school, 30 rent agreements were submitted by those who got free admission. Hence the CM should probe the matter.

In Pune and Kolhapur the rent agreement is prepared in the registry offices, and then the municipal commissioner and police commissioner are informed about it. In Aurangabad, the due process is not being followed.

The association also demanded to release funds to the schools giving admission under RTE within six months; issue an order to upload all the required documents online while seeking admission in Jawahar Navoday Vidyalay and Military Schools like Uttar Pradesh. The association president, Prashant Sathe, said that the chief minister''s office had sent a letter to the education department for further action.
