Aurangabad, Feb 2:

The officials of the anti-corruption bureau caught a co-operative officer while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 for not taking action against a fisheries development co-operative society. The operation was carried out in Sriniketan Colony on Tuesday.

Valmik Madhavrao Kale (56) is the name of a corrupt co-operative officer. Dairy and fisheries department had received several complaints against the complainant's co-operative society. According to the complaint, Kale was investigating the case. When the complainant met him, Kale demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for not taking action against the organization and not appointing an administrator and for giving a positive report to the complainant. Since the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he lodged a complaint against Kale with the ACB. PI Sandeep Rajput, staff Arun Ugle, Digambar Pathak and Prakash Ghugare under the guidance of superintendent of police Dr Rahul Khade, additional SP Dr Anita Jamadar and Deputy SP B V Gawde verified the complaint. A trap was set to catch Kale on Tuesday afternoon. The sleuths caught Kale redhanded while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant. A process of filing a case was underway at Kranti Chowk police station.
