The municipal corporation will soon appoint 10 co-opted corporators. Distribution of application forms began at the municipal secretary’s office on Wednesday, with 90 aspirants collecting forms on the very first day. The distribution will continue till March 25.

Submission of applications will begin from March 24, with March 30 as the last date. The process will be carried out at the municipal secretary’s office between 10 am and 3 pm. Scrutiny of applications will take place on April 1 from 11 am in the municipal commissioner’s chamber.

With a large turnout on the first day, the number of applicants is expected to double or triple by March 25. Sources said a majority of those collecting forms are BJP office-bearers. Based on proportional strength, BJP is likely to get 5 seats, AIMIM 3, while Shinde Sena and Uddhav Sena may get one seat each.
