Aurangabad, March 5: A cochlear implant (artificial ear implant) surgery facility for deaf patients was inaugurated at the Advance ENT Hospital by Padma Shri Dr Milind Kirtane, recently.

Cochlear implant surgery will be a boon for deaf patients in Marathwada as it will help them to live a normal life, he said.

The surgery was performed on a four-year-old child in the presence of Dr Kirtane. Dr Priya Bhale, Dr Mayuri Pore Bahegavankar and Dr Amol Itolikar contributed.

The vertigo centre with all equipment for diagnosis and treatment was also inaugurated. Dr Kirtane extended best wishes to Dr Sachin Nagare, Dr Shaligram Tonde, Dr Riteish Bhagwant and Dr Atul Pore for the future journey.
