Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Newly appointed district collector Vinay Gowda G.C. has swung into action, conducting surprise rounds of the office at 10 am over the past two days and cracking down on absentee and late staff. On April 9, notices were ordered against 3 officers and 12 employees, while on April 10, 1 officer and 15 late employees were issued notices. The inspections created a stir among officials and staff.

The collector has directed that all official files be processed online, refusing to approve offline submissions and returning such files. This move aims to bring discipline and efficiency to administrative functioning.

Pending mutations under review today

Despite efforts to speed up administration, work at the talathi and circle officer level remains slow. As many as 10,098 mutation entries are pending across the district, forcing farmers to make repeated visits to offices. The highest number 3,326 cases are pending in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tehsil. A review meeting has been scheduled on Saturday to address pending cases from the past month. The meeting will be held after the collector returns from a review of the Grishneshwar development plan at Ellora.
