Aurangabad, Dec 27:

The district administration has formulated a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to prevent the spread of Covid-19 due to foreign passengers. District collector Sunil Chavan on Sunday warned of action under the Prevention of Infectious Diseases Act 1897 and Disaster Management Act 2005 if the concerned parties do not strictly implement this procedure.

The meeting, chaired by the district collector, on Sunday unanimously decided the SOP for passengers from abroad, especially those from Britain. As per the SOPs, the airport authority should provide the list of passengers coming from the UK and abroad to the municipal corporation and district administration. All passengers will be transported by bus to an institutional quarantine centre from the airport. Passengers will be undergoing an RTPCR test after seven days quarantine. Passengers will be allowed to go home if their RT-PCR test is negative. However, follow up will be taken for 28 days. Those who test positive will be admitted to the designated hospital. In addition to these issues, the SOP includes the issue of mandatory RT-PCR examination of all persons who come in contact with the patients. Zilla Parishad CEO Dr Mangesh Gondavale, Government hospital dean Dr Kanan Yelikar, Dr Sundar Kulkarni, Dr Neeta Padalkar, and other officials were present.
