Aurangabad, Oct 29:

An Academic Council member of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) in a memorandum submitted to vice-chancellor alleged that college management representative demands money from teachers for promotion.

It may be noted that the university conducts Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) camps to give promotion to senior college teachers. It sets up a committee comprising VC, government nominees, subject expert and representative of college management.

In the memorandum, AC member Dr Vilas Khandare stated since the college management representative is a chairman of the committee, he/she demands a bribe from their college teacher.

He said that the chairman remains absent intentionally for the camp if money is not paid.

“If the chairman of the committee does not remain present for the camp, the VC nominee should be made its chairman,” he demanded.
