The Congress has demanded that women be given opportunities in key constitutional posts, including the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU). The demand was made through a press release by district vice-president Dr Arun Shirsat and others.

According to the statement issued by Congress office-bearers, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar strongly advocated gender equality and emphasised the active participation of women in education, leadership, and decision-making processes. In line with his egalitarian and social justice-oriented ideology, women should be given opportunities in higher academic and administrative positions.

While women are currently serving in various roles within universities, their representation at senior administrative levels remains limited. Providing opportunities to women in key positions such as Pro-Vice-Chancellor would strengthen the values of social inclusion, representation, and justice.

The statement bears the signatures of district president Anis Patel and vice-president Dr Arun Shirsat.
