Aurangabad, July 8:

Members of Congress party took out a rally on Thursday in protest against rising inflation. Bullock carts, bicycles, camels and horses used in the rally were the cynosure of all eyes.

The rally began after the garlanding statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The agitators raised slogans like ‘Wah Re Modi Tera Khel, Sasti Daru, Mehnga Tel’, Rahul Gandhi Sangharsh Karo, Hum Tumhare Saath Hai, Petrol-diesel Ke Rate Kam Karo.’

Congress district committee president Dr Kalyan Kale, city unit president Hisham Osmani, Marathwada coordinator Dr Jitendra Dehade, former minister Anil Patel, Saroj Maslage from State unit of Congress (women’s cell) and city unit (women wing) president Seema Thorat led the rally.

Ramukaka Shelke, Bhausaheb Jagtap, Ravindra Kale, Atish Pitle, Baban Didore, Syed Akram, Nilesh Ambewadikar, Moin Harsulkar, Jaiprakash Narnawre,Yogesh Maslage, Iqbalsingh Gill, Mudassir Ansari and others participated in the rally.

Later, a delegation of the agitators submitted a memorandum to the divisional commissioner.
