Aurangabad, July 23:

Despite the fact that there has been a huge shortage of vaccines in the city for the last few days, we have demanded the government to increase the doses from time to time, said municipal administrator Astik Kumar Pandey on Friday. For the past few days we have been giving preference to those taking the second dose. He also said that vaccination will be done as per the supply of vaccine from the government.

He said that the government has recently adopted a policy of providing doses as per the population norms. Just as there is scarcity in urban areas, there is scarcity in rural areas as well. It has been demanded that the dose should be increased in the meetings of the task force held at the district administration. The office of the deputy director of health has also demanded four to five times more doses. The government itself does not get enough vaccines. It doesn't matter if you get the second dose late or not. Citizens have no reason to panic, Pandey added.
