Aurangabad, Dec 23:

A webinar organised was in Maulana Azad College on Tuesday to celebrate National Mathematics Day.

Dr Sachin Bhalekar, an Associate Professor from the Central University of Hyderabad and a Mathematician rated among top 2 per cent of world’s scientists by Stanford University, was the chief guest for the webinar.

Speaking on occasion, D. Bhalekar highlighted ups and downs and difficulties faced by S Ramanujan in his life. He also presented the interesting facts and events as well as Ramanujan contribution in the mathematical sciences.

“Ramanujan faced many difficulties in his school life, but his interest in mathematics and constant efforts made him great mathematician,” he added.

Earlier, Dr Mazahar Farooqui, Principal of Maulana Azad college inaugurated the programme. Dr Sadik Ali, head of the mathematics department, was the convener the webinar which was attended by more than 150 students of various colleges.
