Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Degrees will be conferred on 56,122 diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, M Phil and Ph D candidates during the 65th convocation ceremony of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University to be held on February 22.

Those candidates who passed the examinations of diploma, UG and PG candidates held in October-November 2023 and March-April 2024 will receive the degrees at this convocation ceremony while those who completed Ph D between June 14, 2024 and February 8, 2025, are eligible to get the degree in the ceremony.

More than 56 K applied to receive a degree

BoEE director Dr Bharati Gawali said a total of 56,122 students submitted applications to receive degrees at this year's convocation ceremony.

She said that the college students would get their degrees in their respective institutes. The course-wise number of candidates who applied for the degrees is as follows;

--Undergraduate candidates--42,666

--Postgradaute candidates--13,187

--M Phil candidates----------16

40 Ph D researchers to receive degrees from dignitaries

Dr Bharati Gawali said that only 40 selected Ph D holders would receive degrees from dignitaries as per the protocol of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. She said that 106 Ph D researchers applied for the degrees during the ceremony. “A candidate who completes Ph D research in the subject first after the last convocation ceremony is selected to receive the degree in the function. A total of 40 students were selected from the subjects of four faculties,” she said.

The faculty-wise number of Ph D holders who submitted applications is as follows;

--Science and Technology--50

--Humanities-----------------57

--Commerce and Management--17

--Inter-disciplinary----------------23
