Aurangabad, Jan 4:

Two units with the capacity of 20 Cubic Meters each are being established at the Cantonment area for storing the Corona vaccines. In all, 7 district coming under the Aurangabad and Latur Deputy health directorate will be provided vaccines from here.

Deputy director Dr Swapnil Lale, Dr Ganesh Kalyankar, Varsha Auti and other officers on Monday inspected the work of the storing units. The work of construction and electrification is under progress. A walk in cooler with the capacity of 12 cubic meters is already available at Cantonment. Now, two units with 20 cubic meters capacity each will be available soon. Similarly, walk-in-freezer and coolers are also at Family Planning Training Institute at Cidco with the capacity of 12 Cubic meters each.

Aurangabad deputy directorate includes Aurangabad, Jalna Parbhani and Hingoli districts while Latur includes Latur, Osmanabad, Nanded and Beed. Apart from Aurangabad, the remaining districts will be supplied vaccines from the city, the sources said.

One cubic meters means the storage capacity of 1000 litres. Hence, Aurangabad will have ample facility to store the vaccines. The vaccines will be supplied to Mumbai first and then will be distributed to other places in the states.
