Aurangabad, FEB 24: A couple was killed on the spot when a car plunged into a roadside nullah on Visakhapatnam-Kalyan National Highway near Matori in Gevrai tehsil in Beed district of Marathwada region on Wednesday evening.

The car (MH-29-R-4230) was proceeding towards Pune from Pusad in Yavatmal district. The car driver lost control on a steep curve and it went beneath the nullah and turned turtle, killing the husband and wife travelling by the car on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Mamta Tagadpallewar and Vilas Tagadpallewar.

The deceased are the cousin sister and brother-in-law of former minister and BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar. After the incident, Chaklamba police rushed to the spot. The police inspector Umesh Kasture sent the bodies for the postmortem.
