The heirs of 23-year-old Sachin Raju Padul, who died in a motorcycle accident on 21 March 2018, were awarded Rs 15.59 lakh plus 7.5% interest by Special Judge R.S. Bhakre. The black-and-yellow taxi driver, Sheikh Faruk Sheikh Yaseen, and owner, Shaikh Mohammad Ayaz Qasim, failed to comply. Special Judge S.S. Shinde ordered the seizure of their movable property including vehicles, furniture, land, houses, and plots worth over Rs 6.29 lakh and over Rs 18.08 lakh respectively. Sachin had been riding with Sunil Bhimrao Shelke when a speeding taxi hit them. He succumbed to injuries on 27 March 2018. Advocate P.S. Tandulje filed a recovery claim of over Rs 25.18 lakh after the defendants ignored court notices.
