Covid tally over 11K in Beed dist

As many as 137 Covid-19 positive patients were found in Marathwada’s Beed district on Wednesday, according to Zilla Parishad chief executive officer Ajit Kumbhar.

The patients tally has gone up to 11,125 in the district, while 311 succumbed to the deadly pandemic.

The health department had forwarded 785 swab samples and reports were received on Wednesday afternoon. Of these 785 swab samples 137 tested Covid-19 positive while the remaining 648 were negative.

Tehsil-wise Covid-19 patients were found as follows: In Ambejogai tehsil 24, Ashti 28, Beed 31, Dharur 6, Gevrai 8, Kaij 1, Majalgaon 9, Parli Vaijnath 2, Patoda 8, Shirur Kasar 3 and in Wadwani 17.

Five Covid-19 patients died while undergoing treatment in the Covid hospitals on Tuesday. A 61-year-old man from Ambejogai, a 71-year-old man from Beed, a 35-year-old woman from Tokwadi in Parli Vaijnath tehsil, an 80-year-old man from Patti Wadgaon in Ambejogai tehsil and a 60-year-old man from Beed breathed their last on Tuesday according to health department.
