Aurangabad, June 15:

The Communist Party of India-CPI (M) will hold a protest on June 17 in front of the district collector office at 11.30 am against the oppressive policies of the state and the central government. A statement issued by the party states that more assaults on people’s livelihood are being mounted by this relentless rise in prices of all essential commodities. Instead of helping people to combat the ravages of the Covid health catastrophe, the Modi government hiked the prices of petroleum products resulting in rising inflation. The economy is witnessing a deep recession, galloping unemployment, collapsing purchasing power and rising levels of hunger. The state government must immediately give direct cash transfers and food grains to the poor. Seeds and fertilizers should be provided to farmers free of cost. The electricity bills should also be vaived off. The CPI (M) has also appealed to the workers, farmers and youths to participate in the protest.
