Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

In district, unseasonal showers occurred on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Due to thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds, kharif crops and fruit orchards suffered extensive damage.

In villages such as Gadhe Jalgaon, Karmad, Golatgaon, Shekata, Kumbhephal, Warud, and Pimpri Raja, within a five-village radius, rabi crops like wheat, maize, jowar, and gram were severely affected. Fruit orchards with ready-to-harvest produce, including grapes, mangoes, pomegranates, sweet oranges (mosambi), and papaya, also suffered significant losses. MP Dr. Kalyan Kale has submitted a written representation to the district collector, urging immediate relief for the farmers after conducting a panchnama. Panchayat Samiti member Shankar Thombre from Golatgaon conducted an inspection of the damage.
