City is rapidly developing, with crores of rupees being invested, and long-term peace is essential for sustained growth, said CP Pravin Pawar on Monday.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar All-Party Jayanti Celebration Committee office at ‘Karamkrupa’ in Osmanpura. The event was chaired by committee president Sardar Naveensingh Oberoi.

Pawar, who served here in 2003 as Additional SP, said the city has transformed significantly since then and holds strong potential compared to other urban centers. He recalled being asked to recite the Constitution's Preamble during a past interview at Subhedari Guest House, which he did with pride. He stressed that every citizen should take pride in Dr. Ambedkar’s Constitution a remark that drew applause from the audience. Serving as Commissioner for the past nine months, Pawar said, “No one truly wants unrest. The citizens have done 99% of the work to maintain peace.”

Speakers at the event included Baburao Kadam, Arvind Avasarmol, Chhaya Jangle Patil, Afsar Khan, Kayyum, Com. Bhagwan Bhojne, and Ibrahim Pathan.

Notable attendees were Prithviraj Pawar, Balkrishna Ingle, Shivaji Kawade, Laxman Hivrale, Veena Khare, Ajay Chawariya, Kiran Jadhav, Rohan Chawariya, Rakesh Pandit, and Adv. Iqbalsing Gill.
