Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

As per the recommendations of the Laad-Page Committee, appointment letters have been issued to 31 individuals on a compassionate basis to heirs of retired and deceased sanitation workers in the municipal corporation. Mayor Sameer Rajurkar urged the newly appointed employees to work sincerely and with dedication.

The programme was attended by standing committee chairman Anil Makariye, women and child welfare committee chairperson Shobha Burande, city improvement committee chairman Jalinder Shendge, corporators Nandu Gawli, Ashok Hiwrale, Ravi Kavade, municipal commissioner G Sreekanth, additional commissioner Ranjit Patil, and deputy commissioner Abhay Pramanik, among others.

The mayor said that the administration had taken a commendable step by including the wife of Amol Jadhav, who died two months ago due to an electric shock while removing a banner, among the beneficiaries of this recruitment.

The civic chief said that the administration completed the recruitment process in record time, crediting the concerned officers and staff. He also highlighted that several welfare schemes are being implemented for sanitation workers. These include an insurance cover of Rs 1 crore, employment opportunities for heirs based on educational qualifications, and the organisation of ‘Employee Satisfaction Camps’ on the second and third Fridays of each month to address their grievances.

He further added that a welfare officer has been appointed by the administration, who is a retired ward officer, to guide applicants regarding the Laad-Page Committee process and to understand and resolve issues faced by sanitation workers.
