The municipal corporation celebrated Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, in presence of officers and office-bearers, with great fervour today.

In the morning, mayor Sameer Rajurkar offered floral tributes to the statue of Shivaji Maharaj seated on the throne at Kranti Chowk. Municipal Commissioner G Sreekanth, corporators Anil Makariye, Jalindhar Shendge, Nandlal Gawali, Shilparani Wadkar and Kirti Shinde, Nandkumar Ghodele, additional civic chief Kalpita Pimpale, deputy commissioner Lakhichand Chavan, garden superintendent Vijay Patil, municipal health officer Dr Paras Mandlecha, executive engineer Balasaheb Shirsat, PRO Tauseef Ahmed and others were present on the occasion.

Later, floral tributes were also paid to the statue of Shivaji Maharaj at CSMC’s Building No. 3. Corporator Karuna Jadhav, additional commissioner Ranjit Patil, deputy commissioner Nandkishore Bhombe, cultural officer Shambhu Vishwas, Sanjay Suradkar, PRO section’s Ravindra Kharat, Atul Bankar and Santosh Kothale, along with others, attended the programme.

The mayor also paid tributes at the statue of Shivaji Maharaj at the Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum near District Collectorate. He garlanded the statue of Jivaji Mahale as well. Civic officials, apart from museum director S S Purwar, were present on the occasion.
