Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The municipal corporation has intensified its drive to recover pending property tax and water tax, with zone offices initiating strict action across the city. On Tuesday, 15 shops in various areas were sealed, according to the assessor and collector of tax section.

Four shops at Jadhavwadi Market Committee were sealed over dues amounting to Rs 18 lakh. Two shops at Sunny Centre in Jadhavwadi were sealed for arrears of Rs 11 lakh. In Misarwadi’s Bhaktinagar area, one shop was sealed for non-payment of Rs 2.62 lakh, while another shop on Pisadevi Road was sealed for dues of Rs 90,000.

Officials said that such action will continue until March 31. Zone offices are also functioning on holidays to facilitate tax payments. Deputy Commissioner Vikas Navale has appealed to citizens to pay their dues on time to avoid sealing and seizure actions.
