Thieves cut the compound wall wire of Canpack Pvt. Ltd. (L-18), Jogeshwari, at around 2.40 am Saturday and stole 52 copper couplings (26 male and 26 female) from fire hose pipes near the 132/11 KV sub-station, totalling Rs 74,000. Employees Nikhil Balande and Abhijit Gaikwad spotted three unknown men jumping over the compound wall and fleeing, but they escaped under cover of darkness. A case has been registered at MIDC Waluj Police Station. Industrialists are demanding increased night patrolling, stronger security, and more CCTV cameras in the industrial area.
