If the corporation does not activate the traffic signals at Harsul junction, passersby will inevitably face frequent major accidents and heavy congestion.

According to reports, the Jadwada Road and Power House junctions remain without functional traffic signals in key areas of Harsul. Although signal poles were installed a month ago, they remain non-operational, leaving residents and commuters to navigate dangerous, unmanaged traffic. The situation becomes particularly hazardous at night, as heavy vehicles struggle to pass through the narrow stretches. Local residents say that even a single large vehicle is enough to trigger a massive traffic choke-up. While signal wiring has been "in progress" for weeks, a lack of coordination has left the infrastructure dormant.

Signals invite accidents

Most city signals remain non-functional, with Harsul junction being a persistent trouble spot. If the corporation continues to neglect repairs, serious accidents at major junctions are inevitable.

Signals stalled by administrative delays

"We submitted a formal letter to the Municipal Corporation regarding the signals, and while the process began in December, progress was halted during the election period. Since then, work has resumed and we have fulfilled our responsibilities. The project's completion now rests entirely with the corporation; they must finalize the installation and activate the system so that the signals can finally start working to regulate traffic."

- Amol Deokar, API, Traffic Harsul Division

Signals alone not a solution

"Functional signals alone won't solve the problem. This complex road layout demands at least two dedicated traffic police officers. Without both technology and human intervention, the area will remain a high-risk zone."

- Rupchand Waghmare, Social Worker
