Aurangabad, April 23:

The death of oxygen, injections and other medicines is increasing the stay of the patients in the hospitals in the district. The medicines are not supplied as per the daily demand. The private hospitals are facing more problems as the admitted patients could not be given discharge and the new serious patients are not getting the beds.

Everyday, around 1500 Corona patients are increasing in the district and presently there are more than 15,000 active patients. The demand for medicines and other articles are in great demand, but the supply is less, the doctors said.

Drug Inspector Rajgopal Bajaj said the demand of Fevipiravir tablets is 1500 daily and the stock is more than 15,000 and there is no difficulty in getting these tablets. Similarly, the demand of remidesivir injection is around 2000 daily but the supply is less. On Friday, 300 injections were available while Tosilizumap vials are not available for the past 15 days. There is demand of around 50 vials daily, he said.

Director of a hospital, Dr Ujwalla Dahiphale said that the Remidesivir and Tosilizumap injections are not getting in time. Hence, the stay of patients in the hospitals is increasing. However, immediate treatment is given to the patients when the symptoms are noticed.
