The electric illumination at Bibi Ka Maqbara, popularly called the ‘Deccan’s Taj’, completed three years on 26 January. On the eve of Republic Day, Sunday saw nearly double the usual visitors, with 6,000 tourists exploring the site throughout the day.

The illumination, started on 26 January 2023, allows tourists to enjoy the monument’s beauty until 10 PM. Earlier, visitors had to leave after sunset, but now even evening visitors can admire the tomb. On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the site often becomes so crowded that entry space is limited. The extended holiday led to a surge, with crowds present until 10 PM.

Visit by foreign Tourists: Along with 6,000 Indian tourists, 40 foreign tourists visited the monument on Sunday, said assistant conservator Sanjay Rohnakar.
