Aurangabad, April 27:

Timely measures taken by the health administration seem to have yielded results as the strength of active Covid-19 patients has reduced by 50 percent in a span of one month. Earlier, the administration was shocked when there was a detection of 32,000 patients in the month of March. The administration's concern swung into action and undertook various measures to curb the spreading of the virus in the city.

According to civic health administration, there was a record of 10,890 active patients in the city on March 26. The figure for active patients has reduced to 4,098 on April 26. The development indeed provides relief to all and is considered that the burden on health machinery has reduced to some extent.

It may be noted that the second wave gripped the city from the third week of February. The detection of patients was also on large scale in the rural sector of the district. Hence, the administration (in urban and rural) geared up and undertook the testing and vaccination drives in phases on an aggressive level. Besides, the antigens tests were also conducted on visitors at all the points of entry in the city for on-the-spot detection.
